This week the hummingbirds in my backyard disappeared. I guess they have left for South America, or wherever it is they spend the winter. I'll miss them, but I'm not sure I'll miss trying to take their pictures. It's kind of like fishing. You spend a lot of time waiting to catch one. The photo of this brave hummingbird had some help from the flash on my camera, the only way to freeze the fast-moving bird on a cloudy day.
